The Library is open every school day from 8:15am to 5:00pm and is a quiet place for all students to come to complete homework, relax with a book or study. The Library has over 15,000 books, 100 DVDs, 5,000 catalogued web resources and a number of specialist databases for student use, as well as computers available to students throughout the day.

The Library is the centre for literacy throughout the school with all Year 7 & 8 classes having regular Library lessons. During these lessons students read and choose books and are set reading targets to complete at home. The Library also teaches a comprehensive information literacy skills scheme of work for all Year 7 classes.

We run a reading buddies programme for Year 7 students in need of a little extra help with reading. They work one-on-one with 6th Formers to build their confidence and encourage them with their reading.
