I went on a development trip to Trinidad in March, where I developed my coaching skills and youth work skills. We worked with young people from deprived areas who live on rough housing estates to deliver to them a street20 cricket project, which is a short form of cricket that can be played within 20 minutes. We also did some VI (visually impaired) cricket and did some coaching work with the Trinidad and Tobago national team.
I am still in the England VI training squad of 25 which is getting cut down to 20 in the summer to go on a training camp in La Manga, Spain in preparation for the Ashes series in August 2012.
I am running my own cricket project, where we are holding cricket festivals in a number of London boroughs to try and get more people with disabilities involved in cricket. We will be running one for Southwark at Bacon's College in June. I am also doing my coaching apprenticeship with Cricket for Change and am doing a number of voluntary hours for them outside of school.
Congratulations to Holly Wylie who has been selected to represent London in the World Youth Championships in Geneva in January
'In August 2010 I am competing in the 200 metre Individual medley event in the British Youth Nationals. I am really excited about competing and I have set a target time I believe I can achieve – with my coach.' Holly.
